Photographers meeting in Valais
I spent three days in Valais in mid-January. Together with several photographers, we had organised a "photographers' meeting" in the Swiss Alps. Originally, it was primarily a reunion with Mateusz Piesiak, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Rising Star 2022, whom I had the pleasure of meeting in London last October. He was later joined by Tobias Gjerde from Norway, Chris Kaula from Germany and Dani Connor from the UK, as well as two good friends Nicolas Stettler & Marc Siegle from Switzerland. To summarise, I was delighted to meet all these great people and the exchange with like-minded people was the top priority. In terms of photography, our main goal was the bearded vulture, for which we planned three days. In addition to this majestic bird, we were able to photograph other mountain bird species such as the alpine accentor, snow sparrow and golden eagle. During the three days we had mostly cloudy weather with sometimes strong winds and snowfall - ideal conditions for exciting scenes! Here are some of the photos we took, enjoy looking through them.
